WHAT IS DAYBREAK ROTARY OF MARBLE FALLS ALL ABOUT?

Children and education are two of the main areas where Daybreak shines. We have a special relationship with the Falls Career High School at MFISD, including them in most of our projects and making those students recipients of our scholarships. Abused and neglected children are another focus of Daybreak through our promotion of foster homes, an annual recognition of Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention month, and the annual Adoption Day.  Daybreakers are "hands on" with projects such as not only sponsoring but working at the Mustang Relays each year, putting on the entire Adoption Day event, and helping keep Rotary Field (ball fields) maintained and improved.

The 4-way Test: It's history & meaning
From the earliest days of the organization, Rotarians were concerned with promoting high ethical standards in their professional lives. One of the world's most widely printed and quoted statements of business ethics is The 4-Way Test, which was created in 1932 by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor (who later served as RI president) when he was asked to take charge of a company that was facing bankruptcy.

Rotary's PolioPlus in Focus
A recent online article on the Bill Gates blog caught my attention about RI's participation in eradicating the world of the polio virus. His blog mentioned only the Global Polio Eradication Initiative  and not Rotary's PolioPlus and that led me to look up the GPEI. While at first I thought Gates and the GPEI were hijacking the role of Rotary, I was pleasantly surprised.

President's Message
Leo Boutte
member photo
This year the Rotary Presidential Theme is “Making a Difference.”

As Rotarians, business leaders and citizens of our local community it is our responsibility to make a difference.  At Daybreak Rotary we do this with our Foster Care and Adoption Awareness Program, Mustang Relays, College and Vocational Scholarships, and sending high school students to Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), along with many other Global Programs we support.

We want to make a difference in our community.  Making a difference is not just the responsibility of Rotary, it is everyone’s job and Rotary helps us do that.  Even though Rotary has over 1.2 million members, we still need you to help Make a Difference in our Community.
