Daybreak and CASA hosted the 2nd Annual Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention ceremony on April 25 in Johnson Park.
Rotarians Eddie Arredondo and Galyn Woerner chaired the event and Daybreak President Allan Garrett MC'd it. Kristen Harris, CASA Executive Director for the Highland Lakes unit introduced the participants after Boy Scout troop 284 posted the Colors.
Judge Cheryll Mabray led off the ringing of the bell, punctuating points about awareness and prevention of child abuse.
Even the dogs enjoyed the ceremony. The weather was warm, but a beautiful day to be recognizing such a terrible problem of our society.
Daybreak Rotary does a number of things with children including promotion of foster homes, sponsoring the annual Adoption Day, and including the students of Marble Falls Career High School in its activities.
