James Holmes killed or wounded seventy people in a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado. Only one man was allowed to record extensive interviews with the shooter. This is what he found.
Unlike the Columbine, Newtown, San Bernadino, Orlando, Las Vegas, and Jacksonville shootings, and James Holmes is unique among mass shooters in his willingness to be taken into custody alive. In the court case that followed, only Dr. William H. Reid, a distinguished forensic psychiatrist, would be allowed to record interviews with the defendant.
Dr. Reid will discuss the events and his book at Daybreak's program which was arranged by Rotarian Taylor Smith.
The YMCA in Burnet has some programs about which you may not be aware. Like Camp, Afterschool (on three campuses) and Child Care. See her program on the Daybreak YouTube channel.
This year the Rotary Presidential Theme is “Making a Difference.”
As Rotarians, business leaders and citizens of our local community it is our responsibility to make a difference. At Daybreak Rotary we do this with our Foster Care and Adoption Awareness Program, College and Vocational Scholarships, and sending high school students to Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), along with many Global Programs we support.
