On August 31, 2021, Hatch Cummings Smith, Jr., Administrator of MidCoast Central Medical Center (“MidCoast Central”), provided us with a status update of what has transpired with the hospital since MidCoast Health System took over management of Llano Memorial Hospital on January 1, 2021, and changed the name of the hospital to MidCoast Central. Hatch grew up in Llano, Texas and was instrumental in ensuring that rural Texans continued to have access to affordable and quality healthcare through his efforts to keep the Llano hospital from closing its doors. |
