Once again we had our annual update from Trudy Marshall on Libraries of Love. Daybreak Rotary was pleased to donate $1,000 for their ongoing work.

The purpose of Libraries of Love is to promote literacy in Africa by partnering with Africans to create libraries in individual schools, provide financial support to assist in the educational development of individuals, and address humanitarian needs in Africa. Daybreak Rotary has been supporting Trudy and "Libraries" for over 20 years and are very appreciative of the work they do.
Literacy and children have both been major components of Daybreak's charitable focus since its inception in 2003, as it always has been for Rotary International. "Libraries" started out just as that -- libraries -- but is now much more. The story of "Libraries" beginning is quite interesting. Read it here.
