On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, Mark Kincaid provided the Marble Falls Daybreak Rotary Club an overview of the services the Texas Ramp Project offers and its local impact.  The organization was formed through the efforts of the Kiwanis Club of Richardson, Texas in 1985.  The Texas Ramp Project's vision is to assure that no Texas resident lacks safe access because of financial limitations.

To that end, Daybreak Rotary made a donation to their future projects. In the foreground you see photos from some of their past projects.

Since its inception, it has expanded to 47 Texas regions and 154 Texas counties building over 32,219 ramps.  The local chapter of the Texas Ramp Project serves Llano, Burnet, and North Blanco Counties. They currently have 15 volunteers that coordinate efforts to assess the needs and qualifications of an applicant, assemble the materials and pre-build and install the ramps. In 2025 they build 40 ramps. An average ramp is 42 ft long and the materials cost between $650-$1000 (approximately 25$ per foot).  It takes approximately one volunteer hour to create one foot of a ramp. While they frequently have a backlog of up to 7 requests, they have been able to fulfill requests within a couple of weeks.
