Dr. Rob O'Connor, Marble Falls ISD Superintendent, spoke to the Club about the Marble Falls ISD Board of Trustees calling for a second bond election for Saturday May 10, 2014 in the amount of $6,550,000 to improve the Technology and Career & Technical programs in the District.
The Supt. made some excellent points about the necessity of teaching students how to properly and effectively use technology rather than simply using technology in the teaching process. The response in the Daybreak Rotary audience was almost unanimous when he asked how many of us look at our smart phones within 15 minutes of waking up. We are surrounded by technology, but how do students use it responsibly is the question.
