Gil honors granddaughter with a Paul Harris Fellowship
Being proud of Mattie as not only a super granddaughter, Gil wanted to honor her scholarship, citizenship and contributions through Interact, the Rotary organization for high school students. Past District Governor recited some of Mattie's accomplishments in the course of emphasizing the tremendous contribution that the Rotary Foundation makes to humanity. Mattie carries a 6.6 grade point (4.0 equivalent to college grades), is a past-President of Interact at Marble Falls High School, and is currently student body president at MFHS and also National Honor Society president. She attended RYLA last summer and will return this summer as a counselor before heading off to college at Southwestern in Georgetown.
Gil pinned Mattie with her first Paul Harris and in turn, Mattie pinned Gil with his PH+4.
(and, yes, this article was written by the editor/proud grandpa!)
