Burnet Chamber
Burnet Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center recently welcomed Allison McKee as Executive Director. McKee comes to the Chamber from Georgetown Chamber of Commerce. McKee has hit the floor running as there are a lot of fun things going on in and around Burnet over the next several months, including:
- Rotary Scholarship Night. Rotary Scholarship Night for Kids benefits the Hill Country Community Foundation and is being held at Hidden River Ranch on October 18, 2021. Attendees will enjoy dinner catered by the Maxican, a silent auction, live auction, games, and live music from Pete’s Pianos To Go.
- CASA Golf Tournament. The CASA Golf Tournament will be held at Delaware Springs on October 30, 2021, with a shotgun start at 8:30. In addition to golf, there will also be a raffle and silent auction. Anyone interested in supporting this event should contact Delaware Springs Golf Course for registration information or CASA for sponsorship opportunities.
- Christmas on the Square. Christmas on the Square is a festival put on by the Burnet Chamber of Commerce and is scheduled for the second Saturday in December. The festival consists of a parade, live music, and over 100 vendors.
- Main Street Bethlehem. Main Street Bethlehem is a reenactment of the night Jesus was born and is presented by First Baptist Church of Burnet, located just east of the square. Main Street Bethlehem is open the first two weekends in December and has over 30,000 attendees. Admission to the event is free, but donations are welcome. All donations are used to pay for the expenses of the ministry, with any remaining donations sent to other ministries. This year tickets will be required in an effort to help with social distancing.
- Bluebonnet Festival. The Bluebonnet Festival is the Chamber’s primary fundraiser and takes place annually on the second weekend in April. The festival draws over 30,000 people, has a carnival, parade, vendors, and live music on two stages.
Burnet County
In addition to planning many community events, the Burnet Chamber of Commerce has been working closely with the Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce to discuss the growth of Burnet County. Developers are purchasing large ranches in Burnet County and then subdividing the land. There are approximately 6,000 – 7,000 acres developed in Burnet County each year. While the growth is primarily residential, a commercial development recently broke ground on a 13-acre tract of land near the airport in Burnet.
