Right here in the Highland Lakes we have a tremendous resource to aid men in recovery from addiction to alcohol and drugs. Our program for July 27 heard from His Joshua House, a transitional recovery residence for men, and from two of their recent "graduates" who had resided there. Read more to learn more about "HJH" and to hear inspirational and motivating testimonials from two men. Click here to view the program on YouTube at the Daybreak Rotary YouTube channel.
HJH recently had its annual wild game fundraiser which, according to Executive Director Robert Hall, was a tremendous success. The event culminated with special additional help by some community members paying off the balance of the indebtedness on their residential facility.
The highlight of the program was a testimonial from each of two recent residents who explained their path into addiction and how HJH helped to bring them back to a life as productive members of society. Recovery from addiction is a very personal path that may include many turns and bumps. For these men, His Joshua House was a key element in making their path successful.
For anyone currently suffering from addiction, these testimonials would be very motivating to the addict in showing that there can be a path to recovery.
